Largest Project Pan Ever – Summer 2017 Update

If you’ve read my last post, it’s has been quite some time since I last posted and update for my project pan. Even though I haven’t posted any updates on here, it doesn’t mean I have stopped doing the project altogether. I have still been panning products and fortunately I have finished 10 in the last 4 months.

Items Finished In May:

Treseme Beautiful Volume Shampoo and Conditoner Sample packs (2 sets)

I did receive these through Influenster and it took me a while to actually get to them. The concept of doing you conditioner first sounds interesting but didn’t work for how I normally wash my hair. On the other hand, it did bring a lot of volume to my hair.

Bath & Body Works Body Wash in Sea Island Cotton

As always, this is my winter scent and my goal was to finish this product by the beginning of summer, and thankfully I was. I love this scent but I’m not going to purchase any more bath products for a while.

Suave Professionals Natural Infusion Anti-Breakage Shampoo (Travel Size)

With Suave shampoos, I never really see any difference in my hair. During this time I was still having a lot of fall-out and breakage in my hair but I feel that it had more to do with my health at the time rather than the shampoo.

Items Finished In June:

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte & Poreless Foundation in 112

This was a very light coverage foundation, which is nice for days where I want to cover up a little bit of my acne scarring but I am a full coverage kind of girl. I didn’t like that I had to apply so many layers to get the coverage I want that my skin looked cakey. Unfortunately this shade had too much yellow in it for me and did oxidize to be even more yellow, which is a recurring problem for me trying to find foundations, on top of the fact that it didn’t even last a few hours against my oily skin.

Be a Bombshell! Tinted Lip Balm in French Kiss

I had received this in an IPSY bag a long time ago, and I hate it so much. This shade is horrible for people with fair complexions like me as it is very very frosty but on top of that it feels waxy and leave a white residue on your lips that you have to wash off.

Village Naturals Aches & Pains Shower Wash

I really do love this brand, and it sucks that I can’t find it in my local Target anymore. This shower wash has a bit of a citrus/mint scent to it, and it also leave a slight cooling sensation on the skin. I used it the most when my joints started hurting from a physically exhausting day. I miss the scent and feel of it.

Items Finished In July:

Simple Moisturizer

So the big thing about this brand is that it meant to be sensitive skin friendly, but this was not. It smelled like mildewed clothing and actually had a burning sensation when I would apply it. I’ve essentially given up on this brand that I used to love after this.

Bath & Body Works Body Cream in Sweet Pea

The first to go down so far out of what’s left of my Sweet Pea B&BW stash. Still love it, and how the formula of the body cream feels as it absorbs into the skin.

Items Finished In August:

Pixi by Petra Mini Brow Trio

This was another item I received in an IPSY bag a long while ago. I had to find a variety of ways to use it since it was three different colors. I used the large taupe shade to set my eye primer and the medium brown shade for my crease, since they were both too light for my brows. The shade I did use for my brows just took forever to use. The powder itself applied fine and blended well.

NYX Butter Lipstick in Little Susie

I loved applying this extremely creamy lipstick. This is actually one of NYX’s more pigmented lipsticks and I have really enjoyed the application. This shade of hot pink worked well for my skin tone and surprised me with how much I liked it since I normally don’t go towards hot pink shades. I can’t wait to try out more colors after I finish the rest of my lipsticks.

So what have you finished panning over the summer? What are your goals for the rest of the year? At the moment I hope by the end of the year I can finish at least some skin care products .

Also, how do you feel about having a seasonal update rather than a monthly update? The post will be longer for a seasonal one but it will also give me more time to get products done. Please let me know what you think in the comments below.

See you soon!

Largest Project Pan Ever 2017 Update 1

I can’t believe we are already a month into 2017! As always the days of winter go by faster than you can expect and I’m honestly unprepared for spring to get here.

As you saw in my post last month on my Project Panning Goals for 2017, I have about 88 products left to use in my Largest Project Pan Ever. Most of these products are full sized with a sample every now and then, so this part of the project pan is going to get harder.

So far this month, I have only used up/decluttered 10 products. Most of these products are things that I would repurchase again after the project is over, or will have to repurchase because they are the last of a certain type that I have. I hope that you project pans are going better than mine, and please leave me updates in the comments! Continue reading “Largest Project Pan Ever 2017 Update 1”

#ZzzQuil VoxBox Review

Disclaimer: I received the following product from Influenster through it’s partnership with ZzzQuil for testing purposes only. The opinion below is completely my own. Again, this product was sent to me complimentary for testing purposes.

So I recently received my first Influsenster VoxBox! Yay!

For my first VoxBox, I got to test out the ZzzQuil Sleep Aid product, which is something I wouldn’t think about purchasing in the first place. . .

My history with NyQuil hasn’t been the best. Every time I’ve had to use it, it ended up with me either having half asleep delusions or just making me grouchy. So I was hesitant to try this product out. I was worried that it would be too strong and would do more than just help me stay asleep for 8 hours.

In the past couple of months I’ve been having a hard time getting to sleep.  I’ve always had a hard time falling asleep. Normally it takes me at least an hour of laying still with my eyes closed before drifting off, even if I go to bed when I’m tired. Usually if I want to get to sleep faster, I will try using a melatonin supplement or some Sleepy Time tea. No problem there. Honestly I didn’t think there would be any harm in trying this out as well.

In my box, I got one sample. One. Understandable, since it also came with a coupon printed on the inside of the box., and if you aren’t careful with sleep aids bad things happen. Because it was a one-time sample, I waited until I had the next day off or I had a night shift at my day job before trying it. This was mainly because I was worried that it would make me sleep too long and I don’t like being late to work.

When I did try it, I did my same routine as if I had taken melatonin or sleepy time tea. Took it 20 minutes before I planned to lay down and take that time getting ready for bed. I was kind of hoping that I would gradually feel sleepier as time got closer but I didn’t.

In my honest opinion, this product did nothing for me. It didn’t help me fall asleep faster, it didn’t help me sleep longer, or better. It just did nothing. If anything I still felt tired when I woke up. Maybe it’s just me?

I guess for my first VoxBox, this was a dud. I’ll just stick with my Sleepy Time tea for now.

Like I said before, I received this product complimentary from Influenster and ZzzQuil to test and review. The opinion I express in this is completely 100% my own.

Did you get this VoxBox? Did this product work for you? If it didn’t do you have an alternative that works for you when you can’t sleep? Let me know in the comments below!

Review: The Original Makeup Eraser

Product Review! What worked and what didn't?

[Disclaimer: I was not given this product, nor was I asked to review it. I had purchased it with my own money, and out of my own curiosity. ALL opinions in this post are completely my own and derived from my own experience with this product. Also there is an affiliate link at the very bottom of this post, and if you make a purchase through that link I will receive a very tiny commission with no extra cost to you.]

I, for the most part, make my own washcloths. I crochet them mainly so I have some cheap washcloths that I know will be durable and last. Though they work amazingly, when it comes down to the end of the day where I’m taking my makeup off, they just get stained all over and it’s hard to get the makeup out of the cloth itself. Eventually I would run out of washcloths every week because I felt like I was just wiping the makeup around, and not off my face.

I have also tried using the makeup removers you see at the drugstore. Oil based and Oil-free, wipes and liquids. None of them did well for me. If anything they only dried out my skin or just ultimately make me break out more.

So after doing a bunch of research on YouTube and reading reviews  on a variety of beauty sites, I decided to make the leap and get the Make Up Eraser. Continue reading “Review: The Original Makeup Eraser”

Project Pan Update #1

Project Pan - Update 1 | The road so far in my journey to use up everything I've got in my makeup case.

Disclaimer: This post does contain affiliate links. This means if you click the link and make a purchase I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. All links that are affiliate links are labeled and are only products I can give a full review on.

Around this time last month I started my first Project Pan. If you’re unsure what that is just click here for my Project Pan page for a full explanation as well as my previous posts for it.

What I Started With

Hey Honey! Good Morning Serum Sample Size
Loreal Tru Match Foundation in W1
CoverGirl Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara in Brown Black
Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Palate in Apricot Glow
Brown Eyeliner (Brand Unknown)
Hoff Stop the Bite Nail Lacquer

The Road So Far…

Well I did actually get that tackle box for all my makeup like I wanted. So when I do start buying makeup again I will actually have room for it. Yay! Plus I actually have a place to put my backups. Later on I’ll put up a post on organizing the bathroom.

The first product to go was my Hey Honey! Sample. I am madly in love with this product, so much that when ipsy had the full size duo of the Good Morning Facial Serum [Affiliate Link] and Exfoliating Mask for $25 (Retail around $65) I snagged it up. You only need a pea-sized amount for your entire face and it absorbs fast. It really does nourish and brighten your face both immediately and overtime. Right after application my dark circles lighten up and my face skin feels softer. With everyday application my face is overall healthier and my breakouts lighten up as well as my dry spots disappear. Also since I’m having a hard time finding a moisturizer that doesn’t make my neck breakout this is a perfect alternative. [Not a sponsorship, I just really love this product.]

For the No Bite nail lacquer, I haven’t been able to keep up with it daily. Though sometimes it’s hard for me to remember to put it on daily, I’m still making an effort for it. I just wish it didn’t change the taste of everything I touch.

I’m really close to finishing the Covergirl Mascara, and have already bought the backup for it as part of my final makeup purchase before my year long spending freeze on Makeup (check out my post on Thursday for an explanation). The same goes for the nameless eye liner; I want to say I have maybe a month left on it.

The True Match Foundation, to be honest, I have no idea how much more I have left in it. It could be half, it could be two-thirds, I have no clue.

Finally my Pixi by Petra eyeshadow. From the picture you can see that I’ve already hit pan on one side, but now I’m finally making a dent on the darker shade and may switch to that solely when I finish the light side completely.

And that is everything so far. I was really excited when I had gotten the last bit of that Serum the other day. With how long that lasted and it being only maybe 0.2 fl. oz. I’m sure the full size (1 fl. oz.) is going to last me forever.

So how are you doing on your Project Pans? Link up your videos and blog posts in the comments below because I would love to see them.
