It’s the first week of the month and that means a Project Pan update! If you don’t know what a Project Pan is Click Here to go to my description page/library of previous Projects.

This project consisted of things I’ve had for at least a year now, or were samples that have been sitting in my makeup stash unused. Continue reading “Project Pan Round 2 Update”

Project Pan – Round 2 & Products to Use In 2016

Project Pan

It’s that time again! A new month and that means I’m starting a new Project Pan! I have seven items that I’m going to be working on over the next couple of months to get them out of my makeup stash and make room for newer products. If you aren’t sure what a Project Pan is click here to get directed to the page where I explain it and have an ongoing list of my project pans.

This go around I want to give it a twist. I’m deriving all of my products for this from my Items to Use in 2016 list in my Bullet Journal. Some of them I want to use up so I can force myself to learn how to use them, some have been in my collection forever, and some I just have too many versions of.

Profusion 48 Shadow PalletProfustion 48 Shadow Palette

This pallet is actually so old it’s discontinued. When I got it, it was already used a little but nothing had hit pan yet. My guess is that it’s at least 4 years old, and I loved using it so much when it was the only eyeshadows I had. When I started doing Ipsy, I had recieved more eyeshadows and started using them more instead of this pallet. Lately, I’ve been feeling like my makeup has gone boring, and I wanted to add a little more color to it. This definitely gives me options.

Profusion 48 Shadow Pallet - Blushes

On top of that, I’ve been considering learning how to contour (not for every day though) and this pallet also has three blush shades (one that seems to me like a cool brown that I can use.)

So for this Project Pan, I’m hoping to hit pan on at least three colors.

Hoof Stop the Bite Nail Polish

Hoof Stop the Bite Polish

This item comes from my last project pan and I’ve almost finished it. To me it seems like it has about a month left on it, and since my last pan I’ve been wearing it only on days where I’m at work and stressed to where I start biting my nails. For this Project Pan, I want to finish the bottle, so I am going full force and using it by the directions of two coats twice a day. It’s gotten a little bit on the thick and clumpy side so it may come down to I have to throw it out before using it all.

The Unnamed Eyeliner

The Unnamed Eyeliner

Another item from my last Project Pan, though this is the backup I want to get through. I’ve realized that I have 4 other brown eyeliners from different brands and this one is about 3 years old. This one is actually shorter than the last one I worked on so it shouldn’t be long before I finish it.

Pixi by Petra Natural Brow Duo in Deep Brunette

Pixi by Petra Natural Brow Duo

I’ve been filling in my brows for a little while now, but I’ve mainly worked with powder and brow gel. I really want to learn and get used to working with a brow pencil as well so I can have options. Also, I’ll admit my brow game is pretty bad. Hopefully getting comfortable with a brow pencil will really help bump it up a notch.

Ulta Professional Flawless Prime Sample

I got this in a gift with purchase at Ulta. It’s a green primer that should help with redness before I even put on my foundation. I’ve already used a bit of it, and it kind of works. It’s actually part of my Products to use up in 2016 since it’s considered a sample, and I just want to get through all of my samples before the end of the year.

NYX Butter Gloss in Peaches and Cream

NYX Butter Gloss in Peaches And Cream

This is seriously my go to when it come to lipsticks and glosses. The formula is amazing and feels great! Unfortunately I have way too many lipsticks in my collection that I don’t use very often. I already know that I’m going to purchase this one again but I wanted to see how long it would really take me to get through it.

Noyah Lipstick in Desert Rose

This is another sample I got in my Ipsy bag a few months back. I haven’t used it much but it works perfectly with my NYX Butter Gloss. Maybe I’ll hit two birds with one stone?

This Project Pan will be about 4 months long. Mainly because some of these items will last a couple of months at most. One thing I will definitely do different than the last Project Pan is that I will wear them daily. Last time, I had days where I didn’t wear it because I was home and so I couldn’t go through some of them as fast.

What I Started With

Hey Honey! Good Morning Serum Sample Size
Loreal Tru Match Foundation in W1
CoverGirl Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara in Brown Black
Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Palate in Apricot Glow
Brown Eyeliner (Brand Unknown)
Hoff Stop the Bite Nail Lacquer

The Road So Far…

Well I did actually get that tackle box for all my makeup like I wanted. So when I do start buying makeup again I will actually have room for it. Yay! Plus I actually have a place to put my backups. Later on I’ll put up a post on organizing the bathroom.

The first product to go was my Hey Honey! Sample. I am madly in love with this product, so much that when ipsy had the full size duo of the Good Morning Facial Serum [Affiliate Link] and Exfoliating Mask for $25 (Retail around $65) I snagged it up. You only need a pea-sized amount for your entire face and it absorbs fast. It really does nourish and brighten your face both immediately and overtime. Right after application my dark circles lighten up and my face skin feels softer. With everyday application my face is overall healthier and my breakouts lighten up as well as my dry spots disappear. Also since I’m having a hard time finding a moisturizer that doesn’t make my neck breakout this is a perfect alternative. [Not a sponsorship, I just really love this product.]

For the No Bite nail lacquer, I haven’t been able to keep up with it daily. Though sometimes it’s hard for me to remember to put it on daily, I’m still making an effort for it. I just wish it didn’t change the taste of everything I touch.

I’m really close to finishing the Covergirl Mascara, and have already bought the backup for it as part of my final makeup purchase before my year long spending freeze on Makeup (check out my post on Thursday for an explanation). The same goes for the nameless eye liner; I want to say I have maybe a month left on it.

The True Match Foundation, to be honest, I have no idea how much more I have left in it. It could be half, it could be two-thirds, I have no clue.

Finally my Pixi by Petra eyeshadow. From the picture you can see that I’ve already hit pan on one side, but now I’m finally making a dent on the darker shade and may switch to that solely when I finish the light side completely.

And that is everything so far. I was really excited when I had gotten the last bit of that Serum the other day. With how long that lasted and it being only maybe 0.2 fl. oz. I’m sure the full size (1 fl. oz.) is going to last me forever.

So how are you doing on your Project Pans? Link up your videos and blog posts in the comments below because I would love to see them.

My First Project Pan

Project Pan

I have way too much makeup. How much, you ask? Well for Christmas I asked for a makeup case so I can organize it, and my fiancee’ told his parents to just get me a tackle box. Last year I tried out the Ipsy Glam Bags, and though I loved it, it hasn’t helped keep my collection at a reasonable size.

So I ended my subscription at the end of the year and now I’m getting into doing Project Pans.

The quick rundown is this: I choose a number of items, and a period of time. The goal is to hit “pan” or completely use up those items during that time.

So for this one I’m going to tackle six (6) items:  [I’m going easy on this one]

L’Oreal True Match Foundation in W1

image

I normally use this in winter anyway, but I’ve been working on it since Christmas of 2014 when we went to Florida. So it is over a year old, and with winter ending soon, and the fact that my acne isn’t as bad as it is during the summer, I really want to get this used up. If I remember to, I’ll keep the cap so I know what shade to go for next year when I stock up again.

CoverGirl Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara in Brown Black

image

CoverGirl has always been my go to for mascara, and this one is no different. This particular one is getting kind of old, and since I use it every day anyway it’s starting to run out as well, so this one might be an easy one.

Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Palate in Apricot Glow

image

I got this in an early Ipsy bag and have since fallen in love with this brand. Once my collection is downsized a lot more, this is the brand I would restock with. Also an item I use daily for makeup, it’s perfect for all times of year and for my skin tone. I just have a figurative ton of eyeshadows that I just need to get out.

Hey Honey! Good Morning Serum – Sample Size

image

Another thing I’ve got in my Ipsy bag, and has lasted me for a long time for something that is a sample size. But I love it so much I got the full size when it was on sale, and paired with the exfoliating mask.

Brown Eyeliner (Brand Unknown)

image

I bought this eyeliner at a Dollar General that was within walking distance of my first job and its something I use daily. But now it’s going on being three years old and I’m still nowhere near being done. Not to mention I also had bought a backup to keep in my purse for mornings where I’m late to work. Since then, the name has worn off and I’ve completely forgotten it.

Hoof Stop the Bite Nail Lacquer

image

I’ve always had a problem with biting my nails, and it’s kind of a nervous tick. Though it is really nasty, I’ve been doing it my whole life and the only times I’ve been able to keep myself from doing it is by getting fake nails which maybe last a couple of weeks. My main goal for the year is to get myself to finally stop biting my nails. Hopefully this will help out.

So that’s it! My first six (6) items for my first project pan! I’m super excited, and I know this might be pretty easy. I use most of these items daily and hopefully that will help.

image

My time frame for this is going to to be 4 months, so I have to use up everything I can until then. With these items I would have to use daily, sometimes twice, which is fine. The only thing I’m not sure I will use up in four months is the Nail Lacquer, so that particular item will be a year long project.

In about a month, I’ll write an update post to show how close I’m getting to pan.

So question. Do you do project pans to keep your collection in line? Let me know in the comments below.
